The Orange wine region in New South Wales is located on the slopes of Mount Canobolas. Fruit orchard have long been grown in the region, with apples, pears and cherries coming from the region. Commercial vineyards have only been planted in the 1980s. The region is best known for its Chardonnay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc.
