James Halliday is an Australian wine judge, vigneron, author,
and critic.
He studied law at the University of Sydney and became a lawyer
in 1962. Halliday became a partner at the Clayton-Utz law firm
in 1966. In 1970 Halliday and two colleagues from the law firm

of wine, along with countless articles and reviews for magazines,
newspapers and the Internet. He started WineCompanion.com.au
in 2007, which is a subscription based Website that gives subscribers
